Did Biden Steal a Page from the Trump Playbook?

If there is one thing Donald Trump excels at, it is turning bad news into an opportunity. So, you have to wonder, with Biden’s disastrous debate performance, did he steal a page from the Trump playbook?

Turn on the news and the lead story is certain to be the “will he or won’t he” saga of whether Biden will bow out of the presidential race. And it has to be driving the media-obsessed Trump absolutely bonkers! After all, shouldn’t he be dominating the headlines with his keep-em-guessing approach as to who will get the rose and become his vice president?

Isn’t it just a week until his coronation in Milwaukee?

So, why isn’t the media fawning over Trump, hoping to get the scoop? What’s all this “Biden, Biden, Biden” coverage about? Why are they hanging on Biden’s every word, hoping to catch another verbal gaffe instead of obsessing over Trump’s latest insult-laden social media post?

It’s like Biden is the new kid in town and people are looking at Trump with the “Oh, are you still here?” attitude. And not being the center of attention is something Trump can’t stand.

No doubt Trump is harkening back to the good old days when everyone hung on his every word. You remember? When he was on trial in NY and there was gavel-to-gavel coverage for weeks on end?

Trump literally held court in a daily basis as the media tracked him leaving his apartment. They fawned over him at his impromptu daily rantings behind metal barricades. Oh, where did they all go? Now it’s all about Biden!

Oh well. There’s always social media for attention. Except social media is being dominated by Project 2025. It's being touted as a blueprint for Trump’s second term. It is also being called “Institutionalized Trumpism”.

So, all things Trump without the Donald? That would mean that it wasn’t about Trump at all! It was about the far right finding someone gullible enough, stupid enough and easily manipulated enough to carry out their heinous agenda.

So, instead of being an agent of change, Trump has only been a tool of the far right? Time to come up with a plan! Let's call it Agenda 47. That’s better! Never mind that it is nearly identical to Project 2025. It has a shiny new name, so it must be filled with original Trump ideas.

But no. It’s just Trump trying to get back into the spotlight. And his equally gullible followers will eat it up.

The old adage goes, any publicity, even bad publicity, is good. It is something Trump has been a staple for years.

Mock the disabled? Must be fake news.

Get arrested? Sell t-shirts with your mug shot on them.

Get convicted? Turn it into a fundraiser for your legal fees.

And now Joe Biden is trying to spin his horrendous debate performance into a good thing as he tries to rally the troops to support his fading attempt at re-election. Is he trying to steal a page from the Trump playbook?

Will it work? Only time will tell. Whatever the outcome, it's all the more important to Vote Blue come November.
